Honey bees are in the news, and the news is not good.  Colony collapse disorder has made all of us aware of the critical role bees play in food production, and in the larger environment.  Learn how to make your landscape more helpful to honey bees and other pollinators in this presentation by Becky Bender and Michael Parkey.  Collin County Master Naturalists monthly meeting, Tuesday, 8 April 2014 at the Heard Museum in McKinney, Texas.

Native Grasses for the Landscape

Ornamental grasses have become a mainstay of landscape design, and the best for our region are native species.  This slide presentation will show some of the stars of the Texas prairie.   Native Plants and Prairie Day at the Bath House Cultural Center on White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas is organized by North Texas Master Naturalists.  The event will last from 10 AM to 4 PM on 3 May 2014, and Mr. Parkey's lecture will be at 1 PM.
